Metadata Services for Distributed Event Stream Processing Agents

چکیده
Enterprise-level applications are becoming complex with the need for event and stream processing, multiple query processing and data analysis over heterogeneous data sources such as relational databases and XML data. Such applications require access to the metadata information for these different data sources. This paper discusses the design and implementation of a servicebased dynamic metadata repository over heterogeneous data sources in a distributed event stream processing environment. The metadata repository is dynamic such that data resources can be registered or unregistered at run time. The design of such a metadata database is the first step in researching multiple query optimization over various query expressions to detect and materialize common subexpressions over relational and XML structured data sources.

Distributed Rule-based Agents with Rule Responder and Reaction RuleML 1.0
Rule Responder is a rule-based multi-agent framework in which agents run platform-specific rule engines as distributed inference services. They communicate with each other using Reaction RuleML as the common rule interchange format, e.g. for question answering or execution of mobile rule code in distributed problem solving, concurrent processing workflows and distributed event/action processing...
متن کاملZELESSA: an enabler for real-time sensing, analysing and acting on continuous event streams
Our research project aims to build an infrastructure that can efficiently and seamlessly to meet the demanding requirements of business event stream-based analytical applications. We focus on the complex event analysis on event streams, QoS-aware event processing services, and a novel event stream processing model that seamlessly and efficiently combines event processing services. That model is...
متن کاملEvent dashboard: Capturing user-defined semantics events for event detection over real-time sensor data
Sensor networks provide the ability to observe physical phenomena in real-time and provide useful information to help conservation and management of environmental resources. However, sensor data meaning, format and interface heterogeneity are barriers to effective discovery and analysis of events of interest. We propose a web-based user application, the Event Dashboard, which facilitates user c...
متن کاملAn integrated overview of metadata in ATLAS
Metadata–data about data–arise in many contexts, from many diverse sources, and at many levels in ATLAS. Familiar examples include run-level, luminosity-block-level, and event-level metadata, and, related to processing and organization, dataset-level and file-level metadata, but these categories are neither exhaustive nor orthogonal. Some metadata are known a priori, in advance of data taking o...
متن کاملZELESSA: Sensing, Analysing and Acting on Continuous Event Streams
In applications field such as business activity monitoring, telecommunications data management, web personalization and sensor networks event takes the form of continuous event streams. Clients require to sense situations and exceptions in these continuous event stream as opposed to one-time queries to a database. Our research is focused on the following real-time event processing issues: compl...
